Getting Around in the Park

Knowle Park is easy and enjoyable to explore, with a network of paths linking the main areas of the park. Many routes are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, with gentle gradients and resting spots along the way. Please note that there are steeper inclines on the routes leading up to the Amphitheatre.
Whilst paths are suitable for wheelchairs, most of the year, please note this is a country park and surfaces may become muddy or waterlogged in wet weather, especially in winter. The paths to the kiosks, toilets, and the lakeside area are accessible all year round.
Clear signage helps you find your way between key facilities, open spaces, and woodland areas. Ground conditions can vary in wetter weather, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
The Knowle Park playground is designed to be accessible and welcoming, with equipment suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Accessible slopes and bridges help visitors move around the play area more easily, and the playground is set within an open, easy-to-reach part of the park. The playground is enclosed, surrounded by a fence, and has three easy-access gates.
We are continuing to build on this provision, with plans to add further accessible play equipment and develop a dedicated sensory garden through ongoing fundraising, so even more children and families can enjoy the space comfortably.
To help keep the playground safe and comfortable for all children, only service dogs are permitted in this area.
